Welcome to the Five Churches Festival 2025!

For the third year, the five churches of the Glaven Valley on the North Norfolk Coast, each with their own unique architecture, history and atmosphere will host a varied and exciting programme of music from 9-13 July. 


Featuring musicians of international acclaim alongside established professionals from across Norfolk, the Festival provides five days of exceptional concerts with something for everyone. Chamber music, evening jazz, brass ensemble, and an idyllic finale English music for strings.

The Five Churches Festival in 2024 was a great success and received wonderful REVIEWS and feedback from attendees.

 

This year's Festival will be opened by international mezzo-soprano Lotte Betts-Dean and guitarist Dimitris Soukaras with their inventive programme Time Stands StillChaos Collective will join renowned international cellist, Robert Cohen and Artistic Director Brenda Blewett to celebrate Schubert and Schumann. 

 

Enjoy the amazing sound and energy of London Central Brass, and outdoor jazz at Bayfield Hall featuring legendary Barbar Gough with the Chris Cooper Trio. Glandford Church hosts two specially composed multimedia performances of Glaven Rhapsody with Ivan McCready (cello) and Rachel Stacy (viola).

 

Supporting young musicians is an important part of the Festival - Making Musicians in Cley and a special work in the finale will prove why. The Festival Finale, An English Idyll, is conducted by Stephen Threlfall with celebrated oboist Ewan Millar and the Chaos Collective String Ensemble.
